Ego brings smart and modern Mediterranean dining to the city of Sheffield

Located right in the heart of Sheffield, in the smart St Paul’s Mercure Hotel and next door to the Winter Gardens is Ego, a fantastic new Mediterranean restaurant. Part of the Ego restaurant group which boasts numerous branches across the United Kingdom, Ego – Sheffield offers a slice of Mediterranean sunshine to the city. Nestled in one of the most popular area’s of Sheffield, close to the Crucible Theatre, the Peace Gardens and the Millenium Gardens, the restaurant is a cool spot in which to dine. The interior boasts a huge slanting glass roof allowing light to flood in and provides stunning views over the next door Winter Gardens. Wooden beams and pretty arches feature and the central bar area adds a contemporary edge. The menu is primarily Italian and Moroccan with some Spanish, French and Greek dishes thrown into the mix. Highly recommended is the pork saltimbocca, the bouillabaisse and the Moroccan vegetable tajine. For lighter bites, the pizzas and paninis are excellent quality. Fairly new to the Sheffield restaurant scene, Ego has become one of the top spots for eating out in the city centre and it’s easy to see why.
