Birmingham is the location for Bollywood superstar Asha Bhosle’s latest culinary venture-the self named Asha’s Indian Restaurant & Bar. Following in the footsteps of her hugely successful restaurants in Kuwait and Dubai comes this fabulous Birmingham Indian eatery, already a big hit in the city. Fans of Indian food and music will love Asha’s Indian Bar & Restaurant where the authentic North Indian cuisine, inspired by Bhosle’s fond memories of her mother’s cooking, is served. The space is large and is decked out in a contemporary style with striking exotic colours and pure Bollywood sounds add to the vibe. Recently scooping the Best Newcomer award in the British Curry Awards, the food at Asha’s Indian Bar & Restaurant is top notch. The Dhaniya Murg (chicken cooked in coriander seed and cashew nut gravy) is superb as is the Chandi Chowk Ka Keema-minced lamb with Asha’s secret spice mix. Vegetarians will love this restaurant-there is so much choice and highly recommended is the Baingan Ka Bartha (roasted aubergine with green chillies, garlic and fresh coriander). Birmingham boasts numerous Indian restaurants but it’s fair to say that Asha’s Indian Bar & restaurant is up there among the best.
